Peel, core and cube pears. Place the prepared pears into a medium sized saucepan.
Add the remaining ingredients to the pan with the pears, and stir to combine. Cover with a lid and cook on low, stirring occasionally, until the pears are soft. You should be able to mash them with a fork.
Remove the lid and simmer on low until the liquid thickens and begins to caramelize.
Remove from heat and let cool.
Use a blender to puree the cooked pears into a creamy butter.
Store in the refrigerator and serve chilled.
